Take Me Fishing Rolls Out Nationwide Conservation Campaign with New Public Service Announcement
Campaign Aims to Increase Conservation Through Participation

ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 22, 2011) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Take Me Fishing™ campaign wants people to know that helping conserve our nation’s waterways is as easy as heading out for a day on the water. To help spread this conservation message the organization recently sent thousands of copies of its new Public Service Announcement (PSA) to local television and radio stations across the country. The short, but powerful PSA reminds viewers they can make a big impact on the waters they enjoy when they purchase a fishing license or register their boat.

“We know that our nation’s waterways are treasures that need to be preserved,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “That’s why we’ve chosen to embark on a new campaign to promote our ‘conservation through participation’ message. Our goal is simple – get more people out on the water boating or fishing and, in turn, help raise much needed funds to sustain local and national conservation efforts.”

Every time an angler purchases a fishing license or a boater registers their boat, they are helping to preserve our nation’s coastlines, lakes, rivers and streams and are making sure our aquatic resources will be available to younger generations for years to come. In addition to the items mentioned in the PSA, RBFF also wants people to know that all boating and fishing purchases play a role in conservation. From bait and tackle to boating supplies, a portion of each purchase goes back into a fund to help conserve and protect the waters around us.

Stakeholders interested in downloading the PSAs can request the materials online. RBFF encourages stakeholders to help spread the ‘conservation through participation’ message by using the TV, radio and print PSAs on their websites, in their newsletters and magazines, or on their TV and radio shows.
