RBFF’s Rachel Piacenza Named to Boating Industry’s 40 Under 40
Annual program recognizes leaders throughout the industry

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 25, 2020)  Boating Industry today announced the winners of its 40 Under 40 recognition program for 2020, including the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Director of Marketing, Rachel Piacenza. The annual program selected the top 40 individuals from more than 200 nominations from across the industry.

“Our people are our greatest asset,” said RBFF President & CEO Frank Peterson. “Rachel is a strong leader at RBFF, running our consumer marketing campaign and initiatives, helping bring new anglers and boaters to the water. It comes as no surprise that she is being recognized as one of the best in the industry.”

Rachel has directed RBFF’s consumer marketing for four years, leading to high brand awareness and influence. Piacenza was also instrumental in the launching of RBFF’s award-winning Women Making Waves campaign, which works to empower women – who make up 45% of first-time participants – and encourage them to become lifelong anglers and boaters.

“After spending my childhood at my family’s fishing resort, it was my dream to work in the outdoors, on the water. I’m happy to have the opportunity to give back to a pastime that gave so much to me and honored that my work has been recognized by industry leaders,” said Rachel Piacenza.

Each year, Boating Industry's 40 Under 40 features young leaders in the boating industry who stand out among hundreds of peer nominations for their multitude of accomplishments and promise to push the boating industry forward.

About the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF)
RBFF is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase participation in recreational angling and boating, thereby protecting and restoring the nation's aquatic natural resources. RBFF's recently announced 60 in 60 effort strives to attract 60 million anglers to the sport by the end of 2021. To help recruit, retain and reactivate participants, RBFF developed the award-winning Take Me Fishing™ and Vamos A Pescar™ campaigns creating awareness about boating, fishing and conservation, and educating people about the benefits of participation. These campaigns help boaters and anglers of all ages and experience levels learn, plan and equip for a day on the water. The campaign websites, TakeMeFishing.org and TakeMeFishing.org/es, feature how-to videos, information on how to get a fishing license and boat registration, and an interactive state-by-state map that allows visitors to find local boating and fishing spots.
