Vamos a Pescar wins five Silver Davey Awards

ALEXANDRIA, VA (November 5, 2014) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced its Vamos A Pescar campaign website was awarded five 2014 Silver Davey Awards, judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. VamosAPescar.org competed against more than 4,000 small firms in winning its awards in the Websites, Mobile Websites and Mobile Marketing categories.

“VamosAPescar.org has once again been recognized for its design and creativity and we couldn’t be happier,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “A great deal of effort went into creating a website that is both effective and appealing to the Hispanic audience. It’s rewarding to see that our work to increase participation in fishing and boating, and generate funds for aquatic conservation, has been acknowledged with these prestigious awards.”

VamosAPescar.org earned honors in the Websites – Branding, Mobile Websites – Education, Mobile Websites – Sports & Recreation, Mobile Marketing – General Lifestyle/Variety and Mobile Marketing – Lifestyle categories. These awards credit sites designed for launching or furthering a brand’s recognition, educating the general public, providing sports & recreation information and for marketing the values of a particular lifestyle.

Launched in April 2014, VamosAPescar.org is a one-stop resource for Hispanic boaters and anglers to learn, plan and equip for a day on the water. The site is part of a larger campaign launched by RBFF to engage the rapidly growing Hispanic community in boating and fishing. In addition to VamosAPescar.org, the campaign also includes Spanish-language advertisements and experiential marketing. RBFF stakeholders are encouraged to utilize the free Spanish-language resources available in the Take Me Fishing Resource Center.

The Davey Awards were created to recognize companies who show creative strength in “ideas, intelligence and out-of-the-box thinking.” Submissions are judged against a “standard of excellence” by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.
