December 2010 – The International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA) has again recognized the Take Me Fishing™ campaign website, TakeMeFishing.org, with multiple Davey Awards for creative excellence by a small firm, agency or company. Specifically, the website’s homepage won the 2010 Gold Davey Award, and the entire website and its online community, Fishington, won several Silver Awards.
“We’re excited to have the quality of TakeMeFishing.org recognized by IAVA,” said Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) President and CEO Frank Peterson. “We know that the website’s creativity is a powerful tool for engaging people in boating and fishing, and we’re proud of it. Because of RBFF’s focus on youth, we are particularly pleased that the website received special honors in the education category.”

Since it was relaunched in April 2008, TakeMeFishing.org has become the ultimate online destination for boaters and anglers to learn, play and equip for a day on the water. According to a recent survey of site visitors, an overwhelming number (82 percent) described their overall experience as excellent or good and more than three-quarters reported they were likely to recommend it to others.
The IAVA’s 2010 Davey Awards attracted more than 4,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world. In 2009, TakeMeFishing.org won three Silver Davey Awards in Branding, Community and Lifestyle categories. Earlier this year, IAVA recognized TakeMeFishing.org and Fishington with several W3 awards.
