Awards & Honors Wins Gold and Silver Awards for Creative Excellence

October 2010 – and its social community, Fishington, have been named W³ Gold and Silver Award winners for website design and development by the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA). Since relaunched in 2008 by the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF), has become the premier online destination for boaters and anglers to learn, plan and equip for a day on the water. Last year, the site logged four million visitors. 

“By delivering practical information, fun and community in a dynamic, inviting context, is attracting more and more people to boating and fishing each year,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “Innovative elements and design, now honored by IAVA, have been key to our website strategy from the start.”

IAVA’s W³ Awards honors outstanding websites, web advertising, web video and mobile apps. Awards are sanctioned and judged by members of the IAVA, an invitation-only body of top-tier media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firm professionals. This year’s competition attracted more than 3,000 entries.

The W³ Awards are the latest of many honors has received. Earlier this year, the website helped RBFF win unprecedented honors in the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Gold Circle Award Competition for excellence and innovation in association communications. In addition, the Web Marketing Association’s 14th annual WebAwards Competition honored with two Best of Industry Awards, one for Best Leisure Website and one for Fishington, which was recognized as Best Social Network Website.
