RBFF Mourns the Loss of President George H.W. Bush – Friend of Fishing and Conservation & Namesake for Vamos A Pescar™ Education Fund
"I am hard-pressed to think of an outdoor activity that teaches you more about the beauty of nature and the joy of family and friends than does fishing," said President Bush.

ALEXANDRIA, VA (December 3, 2018) - The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) was saddened to learn of the passing of President George H.W. Bush this past weekend. While the nation mourns the loss of its 41st President, RBFF celebrates his contributions to recreational fishing.

In 2015, the President himself supported RBFF’s efforts to bring conservation education and fishing and boating experiences to Hispanic families through the George H.W. Bush Vamos A Pescar Education Fund. He also helped announce the very first grant donations at a 2016 ceremony in College Station, Texas.

“His passion for fishing and dedication towards the continued enjoyment of this time-honored family tradition was extremely valuable to RBFF, and we’ll be forever grateful for his participation and support,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson.
