‘Take Me Fishing Center’ Promotes Boating, Fishing & Conservation at Fred Hall Shows
Interactive, Hands-on Activities to be Featured at Long Beach & San Diego Exhibits

ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 26, 2009) The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced that its Take Me Fishing Center will be featured at Fred Hall’s Fishing Tackle & Boat Shows taking place March 4 – 8, 2009 in Long Beach, Calif. and March 25 – 29, 2009 in San Diego, Calif. Designed to educate show attendees on boating, fishing and conservation, the Take Me Fishing Center will have something for all outdoor enthusiasts.

“Boaters and anglers of all ages and experience levels will learn how they can plan a trip, buy a fishing license, design their dream boat or check out the latest equipment on TakeMeFishing.org,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “Avid anglers will also learn how they can help conserve our nation’s aquatic resources by taking the Anglers’ Legacy Pledge and sharing the sport with a newcomer.”

The exhibit will feature two main stations focused on TakeMeFishing.org and Anglers’ Legacy. Each day, two individuals who take the Anglers’ Legacy Pledge on-site will be chosen to receive Voltaeus rod and reel combos, courtesy of Shimano. The exhibits will also feature the Fishing Hole Target Casting Mat, where anglers of all ages can test their casting skills and receive special giveaways.

In Long Beach, professional angler Al Keller will be on hand to demonstrate and teach casting techniques, encourage anglers to take the Anglers’ Legacy Pledge and educate attendees about the resources available on TakeMeFishing.org. In San Diego, attendees can meet professional anglers Hector and Diane DeLaGarza.

More information about the Take Me Fishing Centers, including a full listing of show locations and dates, is available online. If you’d like to set up a one-on-one meeting or interview in Long Beach or San Diego, e-mail RBFF Communications Director Heather Sieber or call her at (703) 778-5160.
