Fishing For the Right Holiday Gift

Whether your entire family loves to spend time on the water, or you have only one outdoorsman on your gift list, takemefishing.org is the place to find unique gift ideas this holiday season. The nonprofit Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced the launch of a new holiday gift guide on its public service website.

RBFF has made a list and checked it twice to ensure there is a gift idea for every member of the family—even the dog.  With nearly 100 fishing- and boating-related gifts ranging in price from $3 to $1,500 featured in the holiday gift guide, chances are you can find ideas for the outdoor-loving people on your list.

“If you are looking for a gift for someone who loves to fish and boat or are introducing a beginner, takemefishing.org has several suggestions for you,” said Bruce Matthews,RBFF president. “Find something special for your favorite angler and ask them to take you fishing the next time they go.  You’ll see there’s nothing like spending time together on the water."

Some of the fishing and boating gifts featured on the site include:

  • National Parks Pass that gives your whole family admission to any national park for a year
  • Combo fishing packages for kids that feature cartoon characters like Barbie and SpongeBob and include all they need for their next fishing trip
  • Portable fish finders that allow anglers to get depth readings no matter where they fish
  • Fishing seminars that teach beginners the basics or help experienced anglers hone their skills

In addition to offering great holiday gift suggestions, takemefishing.org is the most comprehensive public service source of fishing information on the Web. Visitors can use the site to find all the information they need to plan a day on the water, including where and when to go, local access points once they get there, and what to bring. Also included is educational information on how to be safe and tips on what and where to purchase everything from new boats to fishing gear.
