The Sportsman Channel Pledges Support for Anglers' Legacy

ALEXANDRIA, VA (August 15, 2007) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced a new partnership with The Sportsman Channel to promote the Anglers' Legacy program. The fishing and hunting television channel has committed to carry Anglers' Legacy public service announcements (PSAs) on their television channel and in their magazine. They will also promote the program by posting Anglers' Legacy Web links on their Web site.

"The Sportsman Channel strongly believes in getting more people actively involved in the outdoors and enjoying a lifestyle that we already know helps our economy in many ways," said The Sportsman Channel Communications Director Michelle Scheuermann.
"We're delighted that The Sportsman Channel is supporting Anglers' Legacy," said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. "Their efforts will help us reach those avid anglers who can make a difference in someone's life and help grow participation in the sport by showing someone new how to fish."

The Sportsman Channel partnership will provide RBFF with 52 weeks of promotion for Anglers' Legacy via PSA placements on their network.

The Sportsman Channel joins a growing group of media partners who are supporting the Anglers' Legacy movement.  To see a full list of all Anglers' Legacy partners, visit AnglersLegacy.org and click on "Program Partners."

Anglers' Legacy was launched in May 2006. Through media ads and coverage, pro-staff and celebrity angler involvement and industry partnerships, the campaign asks avid anglers to share their passion for fishing and drives them to AnglersLegacy.org where they're asked to "Take the Pledge" – promising to take one new person fishing each year. In its first year, the program has garnered nearly 10,000 pledges.
