RBFF Features Boating and Fishing Education Programs at NRPA Congress & Expo

ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 9, 2008) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) will join nearly 10,000 park and recreation leaders, advocates and suppliers Oct. 14 – 18 in Baltimore, Md. for the National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) 2008 Congress and Exposition. Distributing information about its boating and fishing education programs, including the Take Me Fishing™ Initiative with NRPA, RBFF views the event as a great opportunity to showcase boating and fishing among other high profile professional sports like football, golf and tennis.

“This year, we hope to put 125,000 kids and their families through our education programs,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “The NRPA Congress is a great place for us to promote boating and fishing and engage park and recreation leaders who may be interested in applying for grants.”

On Friday, Oct. 17 from 8:30 – 9:45 a.m., RBFF Education and Conservation Manager Arisa Teasley will lead an education session titled Expanding the Participation Pathway for Recreational Boating and Fishing. The presentation will give attendees an overview of RBFF, its programs that drive participation in boating and fishing and future grant opportunities.

Hosted in a different city each year, the NRPA Congress and Exposition attracts thousands of park and recreation professionals, citizen advocates, educators, students, industry vendors and others. Attendees experience an array of education activities, hundreds of exhibitors, networking opportunities and social events. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., will address this year’s Opening General Session.
