BASS Anglers’ Legacy Sweepstakes Kicks off to Encourage Participation in Boating and Fishing
Sweepstakes Offers Chance to Win Free Disney World Trip & Guided Fishing Excursion for Second Consecutive Year

ALEXANDRIA, VA (June 3, 2008) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced that BASS is sponsoring an Anglers’ Legacy sweepstakes, in an effort to help drive enrollment in the program and introduce newcomers to boating and fishing. As the world’s largest bass fishing organization with over half a million members, the ESPN-owned company is partnering with Anglers' Legacy for the second consecutive year.

The promotion, which kicked off on May 19, uses advertisements in Bassmaster magazine and Web banners to encourage anglers to visit and “Take the Pledge.” Individuals who visit the site and take the Anglers' Legacy Pledge will be entered into the sweepstakes. The grand prize winner of the BASS Anglers’ Legacy Sweepstakes, to be selected in November, will receive a trip to Disney World, including a two-night stay and guided fishing excursion.

“BASS is committed to growing the sport of fishing and we want to encourage newcomers to get involved in the sport,” said RBFF Board Member and Senior Director of Sales and Sponsorship for BASS Michael Cassidy. “By taking the Pledge and sharing the sport with a friend or family member, you're helping to protect the legacy for future generations."

“We are thrilled that for the second year in a row, BASS and ESPN are carrying the Anglers' Legacy message to their members who are outdoor enthusiasts nationwide,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “This effort will help families and friends reconnect to experience the joys of boating and fishing.”

Launched in May 2006, Anglers’ Legacy asks avid anglers to share their passion for boating and fishing and to visit where they're asked to "Take the Pledge" – promising to take at least one new person fishing each year. To date, more than 50,000 anglers have signed on.
