Fishing Season Opens at Triple-A Ballparks
Take Me Fishing™ Promotion Gives Fans a Chance to Win a New Boat & Trailer or a Fishing Trip with the Players

ALEXANDRIA, VA (April 25, 2008) — This spring, more than 30 Triple-A Baseball teams are teaming up with the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Take Me Fishing campaign and Lowe Boats to create a promotion that pairs two of America’s favorite pastimes– baseball and fishing. The 14-week partnership, which kicks off this weekend and runs through July, features a sweepstakes to win a boat, motor and trailer, fun prizes and other game-time contests.

“Last year’s promotion was a huge success and we’re making it even bigger and better this year,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “With the strong ties between baseball, boating and fishing, we’re thrilled to be working with Triple-A Baseball to bring America’s greatest pastimes together and increase participation in boating and fishing nationwide.”

At home games this season, fans can enter the Take Me Fishing sweepstakes at registration kiosks in the ballpark or by filling out an entry form distributed by ushers. One lucky grand-prize winner, to be selected from a pool of entries collected by all participating teams, will receive a 17’ Lowe Stinger 175 with a Mercury 50ELPTO motor, trailer, fish finder and trolling motor.

“We are delighted to team up with the Take Me Fishing campaign and Triple-A Baseball to promote boating, fishing and baseball,” said RBFF Board Member and Lowe Boats District Manager Jason Scruggs. “We encourage all fans to enter the sweepstakes and look forward to picking the lucky winner in August.”

In addition to the grand prize sweepstakes, the promotion will include humorous boating and fishing videos, an ongoing “Fish or No Fish” game and other prizes such as a fishing trip with the players and free giveaways. Select stadiums will also feature outfield signage.

The centerpiece of the Take Me Fishing campaign is TakeMeFishing.org – the most comprehensive boating and fishing Web site available nationwide. Whether it’s planning a trip, buying a fishing license, designing your dream boat, or checking out the latest equipment, TakeMeFishing.org has something for boaters and anglers of all ages and experiences levels.
