RBFF Elects New Board of Directors Members

ALEXANDRIA, VA (March 4, 2008)Frank Peterson, president and CEO of the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF), announced today the new members who were appointed and the existing members who were re-appointed to the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Board of Directors. Their terms began March 1, 2008. Additionally, three members retired.

RBFF’s Nominating Committee re-elected the current slate of officers for another year’s term. The board also recognized appointments from the following organizations to serve a three-year term:

Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies -

  • Dave Chanda, New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife (re-appointed)
  • Lydia Saldaña, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (re-appointed)

National Marine Manufacturers Association - 

  • Doug Beachem, DJB Ltd.
  • Jason Scruggs, Lowe Boats
  • Mike Hebert, Texas Marine

American Sportfishing Association - 

  • Ken Sarber, Dick’s Sporting Goods (re-appointed)

Sport Fishing & Boating Partnership Council -

  • Susan Whitaker, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development
  • Charles Holmes, Boy Scouts of America (At-Large)

“Our work promoting fishing and boating is critical to the future of these industries and we’re eager to keep the momentum going with this accomplished group of leaders,” said Thom Dammrich, chairman of the RBFF Board and president of the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

“The board led us through a number of important new initiatives this past year and I’d like to thank them all for their time and commitment,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “The new members are ready to get started and we’re eager to work with them.”

Retiring from the board are Bob Menne, Premier Pontoons; Jeff Pontius, Zebco; and Larry Russo, Russo Marine.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Bob, Jeff and Larry,” said Peterson. “Their contributions to the board have been invaluable and they will certainly be missed.”
