RBFF Joins ‘Discover Boating’ at Outdoor Recreation Village During Super Bowl
RBFF Promotes Anglers’ Legacy at Free Event Promoting Healthy Outdoor Activities

ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 31, 2008) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced they will join Discover Boating at this year’s Outdoor Recreation Village, a unique event highlighting healthy outdoor recreation opportunities, January 31 – February 3, 2008. The Outdoor Recreation Village will have free admission and is open to the public in Glendale, Ariz. to coincide with the Super Bowl.

Promoting the organization’s Anglers’ Legacy program, RBFF State Outreach Manager Stephanie Hussey and best-selling author and professional angler Ronnie Kovach will be available to discuss the Anglers’ Legacy program and provide information about how to preserve the resource by introducing a newcomer to the sport of fishing. Kovach will also be available to demonstrate professional casting techniques.

The Discover Boating & Take Me Fishing mobile marketing trailer will also be in action at this weekend’s Super Bowl festivities. The 40 x 100 foot interactive exhibit all about boating and fishing will be at Tail Gate City, part of the Forever Resorts Outdoor Pavilion.  Featuring educational games and entertainment, the exhibit will showcase exciting new tow vehicles and boats.  What’s more, the Discover Boating ‘Boating Guy’, the industry’s official expert on all things boating, will be on hand to answer any and all questions about boating and help interested boaters and anglers learn how to get their feet wet.

“The Outdoor Recreation Village is a unique opportunity for not only children to share in the joys of the outdoors, but adults as well,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “We know that kids today spend much more time indoors and this is a great time to introduce people to the opportunities that the outdoors has to offer.”

Forever Resorts, LLC, one of the nation’s largest national park concession operators, in conjunction with GET OUTDOORS USA! and the American Recreation Coalition (ARC) have teamed up to create the Outdoor Recreation Village. The event will include live entertainment, boating and fishing simulators, hands-on activities and interactive outdoor recreational choices, special demonstrations, information on planning trips from the National Park Service, as well as opportunities to win prizes.
