Fishing Season Opens at Triple-A Ballparks
Take Me Fishing™ Gives Fans Chance to Win Walt Disney World Fishing Trip

This spring, more than 30 Triple-A and Minor League Baseball teams are working with the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s (RBFF) Take Me Fishing campaign and BASS/ESPN Outdoors to promote America’s favorite pastimes – baseball, boating and fishing. The 12-week partnership, which kicked off last weekend and runs through August 2, 2009, features a sweepstakes to win a Walt Disney World Fishing Excursion, fun prizes and other game-time contests.

“We’re bringing boating and fishing to the ballpark once again this year with contests, giveaways and a fantastic new grand prize,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “Baseball, boating and fishing are time-honored, family traditions and we’re delighted to be working with Triple-A Baseball and BASS to encourage more people to get out on the water.”

At home games this season, fans can enter the Take Me Fishing sweepstakes at registration kiosks in the ballpark or by filling out an entry form distributed by ushers. One lucky grand-prize winner, to be selected from a pool of entries collected by all participating teams, will receive a trip for four to Orlando, Fla., including two guided bass fishing trips on the Walt Disney World Resort lakes and Walt Disney World Park passes.

“BASS is pleased to offer a Walt Disney World Fishing Excursion to one lucky winner,” said RBFF Board Member and BASS Senior Director for Sales and Sponsorship Michael Cassidy. “We are committed to growing the sport and see this partnership with Take Me Fishing and Triple-A Baseball as a homerun for everyone.”

In addition to the grand prize sweepstakes, participants will also have the opportunity to win the first place prize, a local fishing trip with team players and coaches. Additional prizes will be given to people participating in the “Fish or No Fish” between-innings game. RBFF will offer all sweepstakes entrants the opportunity to receive a free “How to Get Started in Boating” DVD from Discover Boating.

RBFF hopes the promotion will inspire baseball fans across the country to get out on the water and to visit to help plan their trip.
