Take Me Fishing Center Brings ‘Reel’ Fun to Forrest Wood Cup
RBFF Exhibit Will Educate Visitors on Boating, Fishing & Conservation

ALEXANDRIA, VA (July 22, 2009) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced that its Take Me Fishing Center will be featured at the Forrest Wood Cup Family Fun Zone & Outdoor Show, being held July 30 – August 2, 2009 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Designed to educate show attendees on boating, fishing and conservation, the Take Me Fishing Center will have something for all outdoor enthusiasts.

“Visitors will learn about all the great boating and fishing resources available on TakeMeFishing.org and will be able to test their target casting skills,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “Avid anglers will also be encouraged to take the Anglers’ Legacy Pledge and learn how they can help protect our waterways by sharing boating and fishing with a newcomer.”

The centerpiece of the Take Me Fishing campaign is TakeMeFishing.org – the premier destination Web site for boaters and anglers to learn, plan and equip for a day on the water. Earning national recognition with a 2009 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Bronze Anvil Award, TakeMeFishing.org also hosts its own social network called “Fishington” – The Fishing & Boating Capital of the Internet, which was recognized as a 2009 Webby Award Honoree for excellence on the Internet.

Anglers’ Legacy, which was launched in May 2006, asks avid anglers to share their passion for boating and fishing and to visit AnglersLegacy.org where they're asked to "Take the Pledge" – promising to take at least one new person fishing each year. To date, the Anglers’ Legacy program has signed on 150,000 Ambassadors nationwide.

More information about the Take Me Fishing Centers is available online. If you’d like to set up a one-on-one meeting or interview in Pittsburgh, e-mail RBFF Communications Director Heather Sieber or call her at (703) 778-5160.
