RBFF Honored with Three ASAE Gold Circle Awards
VP of Communications Earns Prestigious Certified Association Executive Credential

ALEXANDRIA, VA (June 23, 2011) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced the organization received three awards in the 2011 American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Gold Circle Award competition. RBFF was honored for its 2010 stakeholder Annual Report, NewsWaves stakeholder e-newsletter and TakeMeFishing.org. Additionally, RBFF Vice President of Communications, Conservation and Stakeholder Engagement Heather Sieber recently earned ASAE’s Certified Association Executive (CAE™) credential.

“We’re delighted to be recognized by ASAE for the third year in a row as a top tier association communication program,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “We’re also extremely proud and congratulate Heather for earning her CAE, the highest professional credential in the association industry.”

The CAE certification requires an applicant to have a minimum of three years’ experience in nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management and pledge to uphold a code of ethics. Currently, 3,900 association professionals (less than five percent) hold the CAE credential. The CAE program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

The annual Gold Circle Award competition honors associations and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate excellence in communication across 11 categories, including magazines, newsletters, websites, blogs, podcasts, media relations campaigns and innovative communications. This year’s competition received nearly 200 entries. For more information about the Gold Circle Awards program, visit www.asaecenter.org/goldcircle
