June 2012 – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation's (RBFF) Take Me Fishing campaign received five Gold Awards and four Silver Awards in the 2012 18th Annual Communicator Awards Competition. RBFF received awards for all of its Take Me Fishing digital assets which offer boaters and anglers of all ages and experience levels resources to learn, plan and equip for a successful day on the water.

The Communicator Awards recognizes big ideas in marketing and communication. It is one of the largest international awards competitions in the world, receiving more than 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes. It is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of Visual Arts, an invitation-only group consisting of top-tier professionals from organizations such as Disney, Estée Lauder, Lockheed Martin, Condé Nast, MTV Networks, Time, Yahoo! and more.
