RBFF Announces New Anglers' Legacy Public Service Announcements

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced that Anglers' Legacy Public Service Announcements (PSAs) with new messaging are now available.  The new messaging, which reflects the program's increased efforts to mobilize America's 7.5 million avid anglers, encourages anglers to "Make a Difference" by showing someone new how to fish.

According to RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson, the new PSAs create a more direct call to action, which will resonate well with anglers. "The new messaging reminds anglers that by introducing someone new to the sport, they're not only sharing the gift of fishing, they're also helping increase fishing license sales, which helps protect and fund the resource," he said.

The new four-color, full page PSAs are available as PDFs in five different creative executions: Bass, Saltwater Flats, Coldwater Flyfishing, Northern Lakes and Saltwater Offshore. A new "promo" version with a customizable upper left-hand corner is also available. All of the new PSAs may be viewed in the Anglers' Legacy Partner Tool Kit on RBFF.org. To request a PSA, please contact RBFF Traffic Manager Erin Shaulis at eshaulis@rbff.org or (703) 778-5155.

Anglers' Legacy was launched in May 2006. Through media ads and coverage, pro-staff and celebrity angler involvement and industry partnerships, the campaign asks avid anglers to share their passion for fishing and drives them to AnglersLegacy.org where they're asked to "Take the Pledge" – promising to take one new person fishing each year. In its first year, the program has garnered nearly 10,000 pledges.
