North American Fisherman Partners with Anglers’ Legacy; Offers Chance to Win Boat, Motor & Trailer

ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 13, 2008) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced a new partnership with North American Fisherman magazine to promote the Anglers’ Legacy program. The sport fishing publication, which reaches about 440,000 North American Fishing Club (NAFC) members, is encouraging anglers to share the sport and protect the legacy in a sweepstakes that offers those who “Take the Pledge” a chance to win a boat, motor and trailer package.

North American Fisherman, who will promote the year-long sweepstakes through their magazine, Web site and editorial efforts, wants to help grow the Anglers’ Legacy program and bring newcomers into the sport.

North American Fisherman magazine and the NAFC are proud to be partners in the Anglers’ Legacy program,” says Editor Kurt Beckstrom. “We encourage all anglers to take the Pledge because, in passing on the gift of fishing, you’re also helping to ensure the future of our sport.”

“We’re delighted to be working with North American Fisherman to motivate avid anglers to take the Anglers’ Legacy Pledge,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “The sweepstakes will help us reach hundreds of thousands of their readers and members, who are likely to understand the importance of increasing participation by sharing the legacy.”

The North American Fisherman Anglers’ Legacy sweepstakes will encourage anglers to Take the Pledge on AnglersLegacy.org and, when doing so, enter a special partner code. This will qualify anglers to win a 1652 SC Deluxe boat package from G3 Boats, including a Yamaha F50 outboard and Trail Guard trailer. Additionally, the winner will receive a $250 Cabela’s gift certificate.

"G3 is proud to support the Angler's Legacy sweepstakes,” said G3 Boats Director of Marketing Roger Bills. “Make your pledge today, not just for a chance to win a G3 Boat package or other great prizes, but most importantly, to help secure the future of sport fishing in this country. We encourage every angler to introduce a friend or family member to fishing this year."

“North American Fisherman and RBFF should be commended for their efforts to preserve our angling heritage,” said Cabela’s President and CEO Dennis Highby. “As long-standing partners of both groups, Cabela’s is honored to help such a worthy cause with a Gift Card worth $250 in great gear from Cabela’s.”

North American Fisherman joins a growing group of media partners who are supporting the Anglers’ Legacy movement. To see a full list, visit the “Program Partners” section on AnglersLegacy.org.
