Get On Board, Take Me Fishing Driving Record Engagement

After passing the halfway point of 2020, one thing is clear: consumers are eager to get on the water, and they’re looking to TakeMeFishing.org to help get them on their way.

RBFF’s web properties are enjoying a record-shattering pace in 2020, following our strongest year ever. With one third of our fiscal year complete, 26 million consumers have visited TakeMeFishing.org, a 132% increase over last year’s 18 million visits. A great sign of both consumer sentiment and the value of the content on our digital properties, organic traffic is up nearly 300%. With many consumers looking to get out on the water for their first time ever, visits to our ‘how to’ and ‘where to’ fish and boat pages are up 219% and 75% respectively. On the social side, our YouTube channel is delivering incredible growth with nearly triple the number of video views as this time last year. In fact, after launching the Get On Board campaign in partnership with the National Marine Manufacturers Association just over a month ago, the campaign videos have been viewed more than 15 million times!

Best of all, these web visitors are converting to more anglers on the water. Our referrals to state fish and wildlife fishing license purchase pages are up 85.5% to nearly 400,000. On the boating side, more than 54,000 have landed on state agency boat registration pages, marking a 385% increase over July 2019 numbers.

These new anglers and boaters are a captive audience, ready to learn how to get on the water with the help of TakeMeFishing.org and head to your stores to get ready for their excursions. The time is now to engage this new audience and RBFF is here to help with free resources that make starting and continuing the conversation simple and easy. In fact, leaders at Daiwa, TackleDirect, Wired2Fish and more recently talked about how successful some of these tools have been for engaging their own customers.
