RBFF Wins 2019 Gold Circle Awards for Excellence in Association Communications from ASAE

ALEXANDRIA, VA (May 2, 2019) – The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today announced its Women Making Waves campaign has been recognized by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) with 2019 Gold Circle Awards in the Media/Public Relations Campaign and Video categories. The Gold Circle Awards competition is the premier association marketing, membership and communications award that recognizes excellence, innovation, and achievement in association/nonprofit marketing, membership and communications programs. This year’s competition received a record-breaking number of 200 entries across 15 categories.

“Our Women Making Waves campaign has now reeled in five awards in just over one year,” said RBFF President & CEO Frank Peterson. “But that doesn’t mean we’re backing off. This audience will continue to drive participation, and our initiatives for 2019 continue to focus on the importance this audience holds for the future of the industry.”

“The Gold Circle Awards is an opportunity for the community to recognize the important role marketing, membership and communications play in associations, said ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham IV, FASAE, CAE. “Congratulations to winning organizations. You have shown that combining creativity, design, technology, and metrics leads to campaigns with lasting impact.”

RBFF’s Women Making Waves campaign took home top honors in the Media/Public Relations Campaign category while the associated visual anthem won in the video category. This year's awards bring RBFF's total to 12 Gold Circle Awards in the past 10 years.

Entries for the Gold Circle Awards competition are judged consistently in each category based on criteria established by the ASAE Gold Circle Award Committee for excellence in association marketing, membership and communications programs.

About the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF)

RBFF is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase participation in recreational angling and boating, thereby protecting and restoring the nation's aquatic natural resources. RBFF's recently announced 60-in-60 effort strives to attract 60 million anglers to the sport by the end of 2021. To help recruit, retain and reactivate participants, RBFF developed the award-winning Take Me Fishing™ and Vamos A Pescar™ campaigns creating awareness about boating, fishing and conservation, and educating people about the benefits of participation. These campaigns help boaters and anglers of all ages and experience levels learn, plan and equip for a day on the water. The campaign websites, TakeMeFishing.org and VamosAPescar.org, feature how-to videos, information on how to get a fishing license and boat registration, and an interactive state-by-state map that allows visitors to find local boating and fishing spots.
